Most Popular Birth Months by State: Indiana

IndianaBets.com took a break from Indiana sports betting to see in which months the most babies are born in the Hoosier State. We used the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) Natality Information from 2007 to 2022 to find the most popular birth months of each state over that period.

Here are the top three months for Indiana:

August Is Month for Most States

The three most popular birth months for Indiana are: August (119,626), July (117,915)  and September (115,648).

Three of Indiana’s four border neighbors have the same top three birth months: Illinois - August (222,619), July (222,593), and Sept. (210,746); Kentucky - August (80,1118), July (78,720), and Sept. (77,304); Ohio - August (198,317), July (195,947), and Sept. 190,335).

One neighbor, Michigan, has a different order of its top three. The Michigan months are July (161,466), August (160,860) and May (155,517).

The top five states all share August as their top month. California ranks No. 1 (698,372), followed by Texas (562,892), New York (330,342), Illinois (222,619) and Pennsylvania (200,892).
